The two main threads of my research are concepts of space, and psychoanalytic theory. These are linked in the sense that certain descriptions of space are fundamentally connected to notions of relational and social dynamics. The geographer Doreen Massey, for example, has described space as being necessarily relational and temporal, which therefore lends itself to psychoanalytic concepts concerned with relational dynamics.
A central aspect to that investigation is thinking about the potential of art as a realm of alienation - one in which the nature and understanding of different concepts of alienation can be explored, converged and convoluted. This is
both from personal perspectives: inevitable and fundamentally human (as described in certain psychoanalytic theories), as well as from socio/political readings.
