Clár Tillekens

Statement

Clár Tillekens (New York City, 1993) is an American-Irish photographer.

Her work focuses on transnationalism, first-generation identity, and plural citizenship. Prompted by her own experiences, Tillekens examines how national identities are becoming increasingly hyphenated through globalism. And with three-percent of the world’s population living outside of their country of origin, she explores the varying layers of immigration.

Achievements & Experience

Most recently, her work has been exhibited across the UK by The Royal Photographic Society (in London, Blackpool, and Doncaster) and featured in The British Journal of Photography (October 2019) as part of a selection of new talent via twelve graduates from British universities.
