Statement
Currently based in Bristol and West Wales, Leia Morrison is a predominantly analogue, portrait photographer. The sea is often a source of inspiration to her work, as seen in projects such as Swim and The Lifeguards, but it’s her fascination with documenting the personalities of her subjects that drives her creativity.

From a recent documentary series celebrating the older generation in the UK, in response to the ageist society we live in. ‘From Water' is a personal project that was created during lockdown in 2020. It explores my relationships with both the sea and the people around me- or lack thereof in times of isolation. From a series documenting the Lifeguards of Ceredigion Bay. This particular image from the series was selected for the BJP Portrait of Britain 2019.
