Polly White
Polly is a photographer based between Bristol and West Wales. Her recent work draws on local historical references and uses sociological knowledge and research to shed light on otherwise disregarded areas of society. By revisiting forgotten stories and harking back to nature and the land, Polly’s images hint to a previous age.

Dissent
This series explores the witch trials of the 17th century in Wales, or lack thereof. In comparison to the rest of Europe at the time, Wales had no ‘witch hunt’ and mass executions, and these images attempt to explore this unique phenomenon.
Veil
The Pagan festival of Samhain, marking the end of the harvest season, is a time when it is said the veil between the living and the dead is at its thinnest, allowing spirits to pass freely between the two worlds.
Grandmother Moon
This series is a visual study of the symbolism and celebrations surrounding the Pagan wheel of the year. Basing their annual celebrations on the changing of the seasons and placing great importance on the cycle of the moon, these earthly connections remain unseen to the naked eye.
Er Gof Am
Translated as 'in memory of', this series studies the lost members of a rural Welsh society. Genealogical lineages are traced using only the words on the gravestones to visualise the lives of those buried long ago.
