Esmée Turlej

My current practise involves ritual and embodied movement to explore the shadow realm of the feminine psyche. I install sacred space for the process of discovering and accepting these areas of self, documenting what occurs in the space and creating video and photography work from the initial experience. I am particularly interested in occupying public places with the ‘taboo’ and ‘provocative’, allowing the audience to decide for themselves whether or not they participate in voyeurism.
