Alfie Warder

Shifting from painting to drawing during the pandemic, my current work is based around relentless diary-keeping. Tracking each day through the habitual meditation of making, I record cassettes, draw characters and sketchbook daily, playing and experimenting with each medium to generate ideas and explore the self. Since we’re living in such unprecedented times, I want to document my experience as thoroughly as possible, so that one day I can look back on this work and feel what it was like to be alive in 2021. A lot of power comes from the quantity, it’s the collection that bolsters and

elevates these pieces into an immersive experience, and it’s this stream of consciousness narrative that represents my creative life most effectively.
