Filmmaking

Welcome to the UWE Filmmaking Showcase!

Our practice-based degree course equips students with industry-ready creative, technical, and critical thinking skills. At UWE, we challenge our students to develop extraordinary storytelling with an authentic voice, preparing them not just to enter the media industry, but to shape it.

Our ScreenSkills-accredited course, in partnership with BAFTA albert Education, ensures that students embrace professionalism in every aspect of their work. They commit to environmental sustainability, adhere to rigorous health and safety standards, and prioritise wellbeing. By working sustainably, safely, and well, our graduates are prepared to lead the industry responsibly and ethically.

We are dedicated

to socially engaged storytelling, encouraging our students to create meaningful work for themselves and wider audiences. Our films regularly win awards, including the National Student RTS Awards and NAHEMI Kodak Commercial Awards, and are showcased at festivals such as Encounters and Aesthetica. This year’s graduating cohort has excelled, producing outstanding films and gaining significant industry experience and opportunities.

From documentaries to dramas, our students have created powerful and ambitious work. We invite you to explore this showcase, which represents their passion, creativity, and ability across all major filmmaking disciplines and crew roles. Their teamwork, resilience, and determination to tell stories that matter are evident in every film. We look forward to seeing their names in the credits of future top films and TV shows!
