Hannah Hughes

My art practice acts as a cararthic process in which I explore my personal psyche by confronting and questioning often it’s most uncomfortable elements. I aim to gain a curiosity for the discomfort and shine a light into the corners of my mind to begin to unravel what lies there.

I am fascinated by the relationship between mind and body, and this forms a solid root within my work. The importance of these relationships to me has blossomed over time, as through making my work I have learnt how both my physical and mental self are fully intertwined and depend

on oneanother for balance and health. The stimulation of visceral textures, sounds, shapes and incorporation of my natural physical self and movements within my work allows me to create a time in which I feel present and receptive.
