Luke Frangeskou
Animation (MA) 2023
Hello! My name is Luke and I’m a stop motion animator with a background in 2D animation.
After years of learning different styles of animation, I chose stop motion as my artistic direction and spent my postgraduate degree working on films with different types of movement and performance, strengthening my skills in puppet animation and character animation, and by creating my own short film to develop my storytelling abilities.
My short film ‘Chef Gustav’ is about a chef who must fight against a cat who will stop at nothing to steal the food he is cooking. It’s plasticine stop motion shot in multiplane and is heavily inspired by exaggeration techniques and comedic violence from the likes of ‘Tom and Jerry’, ‘Ren and Stimpy’ and ‘Happy Tree Friends’.
