Amy Smith

Amy is a born and bred Bristolian and is at the beginning of her filmmaking career. She has a passion for production management, especially factual entertainment, and loves the world of casting for short films. She attended the BFI BOVTS Academy, which was her first eye-opener in the industry.

She has worked as a runner on BFI-funded films such as The Piss Witch and Lode by Theo Watkins. She is currently gaining mentoring from Black Bark Films via the Screenskills Mentoring scheme.

Currently, Amy is taking part in a Bristol Creative Industries and Babbassa placement.

Amy is looking to get into production management. She has credits for doing many short films from her profile. Recently she produced and production managed a short documentary for her final project called Shmelvis, which is all about Elvis impersonation. She also wants to gain some experience in the field of casting for short films.

A Night In The Newsroom

Won RS Film Festival - Best Student Film Award A short film about a journalist in the 1930s. I helped source the actors and set up the interview process. I was the co-casting director of this project.

Shmelvis
