Maisie Tuckett

I am a multidisciplinary illustrator and designer who predominantly works with analogue and digital methods to create visually communicative pieces that are rooted in activism. Growing up in Bristol has provided me with access to so much of the visual and cultural inspiration that become an informant to the work I create. I have always enjoyed creating decorative and colourful illustrations but have a newfound interest in working with photomontage and digital collage for illustration that I have used throughout my MA, with traditional drawing methods remaining in my more personal projects.

My most recent project explores and celebrates the evolution of Bristol’s urban culture, while acknowledging and approaching problematic aspects of its history. These historical aspects include religious persecution, racial injustice, classism, and the gentrification of Bristol which could lead to the erasure of its urban culture and the artistic culture that presides within.

Generational Perspective

A poster that explores the difference in socio-political perspectives present in typical 'left' or 'right' leaning newspapers and the fuelling of a narrative that is perpetuated by consuming media that already fits the narrative that you identify with.
