During my time at UWE, I have become fascinated with the use of digital and analogue media to create pieces of fine art. I have created installations that use pre-existing film clips and vintage photographs to evoke feelings of nostalgia, an experimental non-narrative film that explores a part of my own history of mental health issues, and a photo series that aims to make people rethink their feelings towards brutalist architecture.
I have recently started a creative partnership that will experiment with creating pieces of combined visual and sound art that reflect on mental health and life in Britain. We hope to set up our first exhibition in 2024.
This series explores the polarizing views of brutalist architecture in the UK. I seek to capture the beauty and controversy of these concrete structures and examine the discordance between the utopian ideals that inspired their creations and their dystopian reputation.
Maglennow
A non-narrative short with an original score.
Maglennow is that place that most of us have found ourselves in at some point in our lives. A place that traps us and persuades us to stop growing.
