I have strong and confident skills in a variety of media forms, i.e film, audio and photography which I have developed over the past years by working with various businesses to help out with their media and put the theory we discussed during my degree into practice. I have photographed items for a jewellery shop website and social media in the Netherlands (https://www.gertrudegold.com/), food and atmospheric photos for an Italian deli in Bath (https://ilmercatodibath.com/), street and portrait photography for personal projects as well as event photography for sport events and a women empowerment event that happened over the summer of 2022 in Bristol. I have also created multiple media projects throughout my Bachelors at UWE Bristol that have achieved high marks.
"Can I have the usual please?" Why shop local or independent when there are shops that you already know?
I have used reflection photography to raise awareness to our materialistic behaviour and show that we only want to buy more of what we already have, which turns into unnecessary consumption and waste.
"Spot the difference"
Wanting to buy new things even though it is the same as something we already have. This then turns into waste. Using reflection photography to raise awareness of our materialistic behaviour and overconsumption.
Adjusting the window, to look different from all the other jewellery shops in the street.
Without realising, everything and everyone sells the same (unnecessary) products, and we still want to have it all even though we don’t need it. I have used photography through windows and reflections to raise awareness to our materialistic behaviour.
Document "climate change"; the Climate Crisis
2/15 images of my project about documenting the climate crisis. Using gold to raise awareness to the problem/effect of our behaviour.
These two images relate to:
Left - Over-crowding with more and higher buildings
Right - Air pollution
Document "climate change"; the Climate Crisis
Short clip of the "climate crisis".
Showing images of traffic/air pollution, fast fashion, (water) waste, over-crowding, meat consumption, deforestation, single use plastic/items, overfishing, rising global temperature (ice melting).
Using motion graphic and highlighting the problem/effect in gold for awareness.
