Rachel Merrigan

Hi, I'm Rachel, an Irish printmaker and designer who likes to explore the possibilities of shape, colour, and texture through print.

Inspired by the superstitious landscape of Ireland, particularly the intriguing practice known as the “Cure”. I explore the notion of heritage and identity through a contemporary lens using several disciplines, including screenprint. etching and enamel.

My practice is a reenactment and re-remembering of this neglected aspect of my heritage in order to question global perceptions of Ireland and spark a renewed interest in the importance of the ancestral landscape in the folklore of Ireland.
