Tsz-ki Cheung

My art practice is mainly based in printmaking. Through etching and letterpress my works arouse a nostalgic sense by manipulating photographs captured daily in the city. The fine transition between light and dark is a constant subject in my work. Through art making I practices seeing; passively observing the negated subject - glances once settled on clouds faraway, tides long gone. These remnants are printed as a language on paper, fragments of descriptions which represent the embodiment of the fixed gaze. My prints can be considered as a momentary pause, a resting place for exhausted eyes.
