Hilda
These photographs are part of an ongoing project about the relationship between me and my close friend Hilda. The summer house served as a sanctuary for us to explore our artistic collaboration.
I am a Swedish artist, living and working in London while undertaking my undergraduate studies at the University of the West of England. My practice is primarily analogue-based, I like to be involved in all elements of image-making from shooting in medium format to developing, printing, and editing my work.
Making portraits is inherent to my artistic practice; it is the way I best convey my ideas and emotions about people and the world around me. In my work, I seek to explore themes of desire and intimacy and the study of the nude through a female lens. Important elements that permeate my work are personal connections, love, and collaboration. The bond between myself and my subject is what drives my work forward. It is imperative that my subject feels comfortable in front of my camera and therefore my process is mainly an intuitive one.

My project is a long-term documentation of the relationship with my close friend Hilda. Showing how our relationship evolves with us developing as adults, ‘Hilda’ is an ongoing project we have collaborated on since I started my photographic journey.
The medium of photography allows me to be vulnerable with Hilda and create something together that builds from a sense of mutual trust.
