Hester Heeler-Frood

Be it a fairytale, urban legend or news report - stories connect us, communicate vital information and move us toward action. They are the foundation of innovation, self-discovery, and change.

Captivated by film's ability to immortalise stories, expose new perspectives, unite people with universal themes and build narratives of change, after gaining a first class honours in Art History I embarked on a Documentary Screen Production MA at UWE.

In the past year I have produced six short films, including a performance trailer for Storyteller Corinne Harragin's 'Tam Lin Retold', and a 15 minute final project documentary entitled 'Storytellers'.

Incorporating stop-motion, double exposure and assemblage, I take an artistic approach to film. The arts, community building, social action and sustainability are my primary interests.

Determined to work creatively and strategically to engender cultural and social change, I want to make documentaries which change systems, move hearts and shape collective consciousness.
