Mya Porton

I have taken it into my own hands to report on my life and the experiences of the people around me. Treating each interaction, no matter how insignificant, as a sensational story. Being a journalist in my everyday life, digging around and searching for leads. Exposing myself through text and making light of my shortcomings.
The aim is to make striking work from a now obsolete form of journalism and discover the settings these works belong in, whether that is a print on a t-shirt, a sticker on a lamp-post or an installation in a gallery.

You find me on a bus seat, left on the table opposite you on the train, discarded and covered in beer at the local pub. Temporary news, an artefact that is out of date after 24 hours.
