Hello, I’m Naomi!
I’m a BA Product Design graduate with a keen eye for detail and a strong human-centred approach to all challenges. I hold internship experience in dementia design, with my work being presented at the UK Dementia Congress (2023), as well as past work experience within the Graphic Design sector.
My skillset is broad – with knowledge of CAD software, engineering, and Adobe Creative Cloud software - though my passion lies in the creative front end of the design process, ideation, and concept development.
Materials & Manufacture
The main shells of the product will be injection moulded using polypropylene (PP) to keep costs low. The base and handle will be CNC'd out of bamboo, and the lower PP shells will be concealed with a linen speaker mesh.
Working Internals
The internal layout of the product was also thoroughly designed, ensuring that all the necessary components fit, as well as ensuring that there was no interference between components (e.g. magnetic interference between the DC motor and speaker magnet).
Sketch Ideation & Development
Initial 3D printed forms were used as underlays to assist with development sketches. Additional development was also carried out, consisting of ergonomic testing and functional prototyping.
