Rhisdiah Van Wyk

Hello, I’m Rhisdiah — a BA (Hons) Architecture and Planning graduate from Namibia, Southern Africa. I’m a driven, detail-oriented designer with a bold visual style and a strong foundation in architectural storytelling through sketching, fine drawing, CAD, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

My process blends traditional craft with digital precision, using mixed media and technical drafting to explore spatial qualities, materiality, and sensory design. I have a sharp eye for form, proportion, and atmosphere, and I’m passionate about creating spaces that are both impactful and human-centered.

I’m especially drawn to socially responsive, community-focused architecture that empowers people and transforms environments. Every project I take on is approached with intention, curiosity, and a commitment to quality.

I’m ready to contribute to innovative, forward-thinking teams that value thoughtful design, collaboration, and fresh perspectives.

Hands in Clay, Hearts in Community [Workshop]

More than a pottery studio, this is a space for shared making, messy progress, and quiet reconnection. The open plan invites visual flow, while clay becomes a tool for grounding, expression, and rediscovering creativity in a collective rhythm.

Madness Below, Stillness Above [Floor Plans]

These plans reveal a layered narrative: the solid core grounds messy, communal clay practice, while the upper levels open to movement, therapy, and rest. Courtyards bridge the two offering calm between creative intensity, introspection, and a restorative pause.

Textures of Process: Mapping Clay’s Journey

This wet zone plan captures the flow of making. Users move through a rhythm of touch and transformation wedging, forming, drying, decorating punctuated by courtyards for rest. Material transitions guide the journey which offers a sensory experience.

From Earth to Air [A Metaphor in Elevation-Section]

Elevation -section The red clay brick base reflects the grounded rawness of unmoulded clay dense, solid, and full of potential. Above, vertical timber slats echo refinement and lightness, symbolising the soft, shaped self emerging through making and movement.

Material Resolution: Wet Zone + Upper Studio [Atmospheric Detail]

This 1:50 detail section reveals layered construction: exposed glulam frames, concrete floors for robust clay work, and patterned brick feature walls. The upper floor introduces warm timber linings and soft finishes, shaping a calm, light-filled environment for yoga and movement.

A Place to Arrive, A Place to Begin [Entrance]

This atmospheric perspective captures the vibrant threshold of the art centre where material warmth, color, and texture welcome users into a space of creativity and care. Framed by crafted timber, soft brick, and planting, the entrance reflects wellness through making
