Nell gransden

I am a multidisciplinary image maker, creative director, and visual storyteller. My practice is grounded in experimental styling as both performance and provocation-an active tool in which I use to question visibility, identity, and power within visual culture.

My work explores the tension between control and chaos, elegance and grit, with a focus on bodies in motion
and the politics of visibility. I'm especially interested in rethinking femininity through performance, celebrating subversion, fluidity, and contradiction. What drives me is not just creating images, but purposeful ones-editorials that feel immediate, emotionally charged, and culturally sharp. Whether I'm drawing from sport, subculture, or the everyday, my goal is to make fashion feel alive: less like an object, more like a force. My work is a reflection of that urgency. It's about using direction and styling to make noise, shift the frame, and communicate something that sticks, without compromise.

Power Play

Power Play is a self-published editorial exploring sport’s performative nature, subverting masculine codes through fashion. Using sports aesthetics, it destabilises stereotypes, reclaiming space in male-dominated arenas, structured like a sports game: Pre-Time, Half-Time, and Full-Time.

After Hours Mowalola

Set within a dark, gritty, and sensual world, After Hours invites the consumer to step beyond the traditional boundaries of fashion and immerse themselves in a space where authentic self-expression reigns.

Power Play

Set in the hyper-physical, homoerotic world of amateur wrestling, Pre-Time explores how raw physicality can exist at the edge of discomfort. I present masculinity as something performative and unstable, asking the viewer to consider where dominance ends and desire begins.

After Hours

“After Hours” is a mock campaign that positions Mowalola’s SS25 collection as a celebration of sensuality, individuality, and diversity.

" They Ran Away To Join The Circus"

Our editorial for More Or Less magazine draws inspiration from the publication’s bold commitment to redefining luxury through creativity rather than excess. This shoot celebrates the unconventional, extravagant, and electric charm of the circus.

Prototypes x 032C Magazine

This self-directed advertorial for 032c repositions Prototypes’ SS25 “Series07” collection. Set against old football stands and sideline huts, the styling reinforces the collection’s ethos—Arte et Labore (“By Skill and Hard Work”)—celebrating craft, labor, and raw authenticity.
