A piece installed in my grandmothers garden. It features embroidered images of the hands of women in my family. 'Forged' speaks on how a religious upbringing can feel burnt into your skin, hard to shake.

My works as of late have explored contradictions I have felt from my interests as an adult and upbringing as a child. I layer and intertwine these ideas, cutting them apart
and sewing them back together to create pieces that have multiple meanings and a combination of feelings. Welsh heritage and the Welsh language have taken a central place in my work as I have begun to explore more personal themes. Theories of the ‘Monstrous Feminine’ by Barbara Creed, religious aspects including Catholicism, stories from folklore and horror all come together in my work. After graduation, I will move onto study a Metal and Jewellery MA at the Royal College of Art where I hope to translate the skills I have learnt at UWE into new and exciting pieces.

This video piece features photography taken within my grandmothers home and the church I attended mass in growing up. The voices in this piece are several women from my family reciting a decade of the rosary.
