Maggie Dorey

I am a multidisciplinary artist from Cornwall, furiously obsessed with colour. My work is largely grounded in exploring narratives and storytelling. I take particular interest around Irish and Cornish histories, as is my heritage, with an additional grounding and exploration in folklore, satire, feminism and religion often using comedic juxtapositions on seriously toned conversations with colorful, caricature and vibrant aesthetics and often, form. My work is guided by my need to create tangible materializations of internal emotions and conflicts to invite discussion surrounding topics that are important to me and, as I feel, the art world. I view art as a vessel for change, which has been the anchor for my passion throughout university. I continue to explore new mediums in my venture to keep making passionate art and using my art as a vessel for change – to highlight things I feel are imperative to discuss

and immortalize.
