Leandro Ernesto Iniguez

Having grown up between Buenos Aires, Argentina and Sofia, Bulgaria, I approached Architecture and Planning at UWE Bristol with a fascination for the cities that shaped me and a desire to learn, so that I may positively influence their future and the life of their inhabitants.

My time in this university has allowed me to explore my interest in contextually responsive and socially engaged architecture and urban design, while delving into topics such as the adaptation of vernacular forms and the potential of co-creative design processes. Participating in the Stonewater Competition, Housing Bristol’s Diverse Population, as well as spending a year at the Politecnico di Milano, provided me with opportunities to grow as a designer and a person.

As an aspiring architect and urban designer, I believe in the transformative power of our work and aim to continue growing as a professional that strengthens communities and creates spaces people

cherish.

The Shed: Masterplan - Central Fishponds

The Shed stands at the heart of Fishponds' future regeneration, suturing together the activity of the high street and the cycle path, the industrial memory of the site and the neighbourhood's future.

The Shed: East Elevation

Positioned alongside the Bristol & Bath Cycle Path, the Shed welcomes people into the city of Bristol, reframing Fishponds as a gateway to the city rather than a suburban edge.

The Shed: North Elevation

The Shed represents the pilot initiative for a new typology, the Centre for Resourcefulness. Drawing from the theories of Commoning and Suturing Together, the project redefines the relationship between built environment professionals and the local community during the regeneration process.

The Shed: Ground Floor Plan

The Shed is organised across four floors, where the people of Fishponds engage with, learn about, work on and sustain their built environment alongside professionals and educators, exchanging knowledge and collectively shaping the future of their neighbourhood.

The Shed: Urban Room

A space where the people of Fishponds can gather to discuss the past, present and future of their neighbourhood, alongside the built environment professionals and educators working in the building.

The Shed: Auditorium / Agora

A flexible space where residents, built environment professionals and educators come together for civic gatherings, shared learning, public forums and community functions.
