2026 SHOWREEL
In 2026, I took on Director of Photography roles, often operating the camera myself as well as gaffing. I dabble in editing work too. Holy Smokes and Dulia won RTS Camera awards. S.O.S won a Nahemi award: Best Environmental Messaging.
Hello, I'm Megan Muir-Bird, an aspiring Director of Photography. I've been lucky enough to win three awards for my Cinematography: one Nahemi award for best environmental messaging and two RTS student West camera craft awards. My approach to cinematography is to focus on authenticity or poetry. My existing knowledge on how to achieve this came from my love of and work on observational documentary and applying those same principles to narrative filmmaking. I strive for the look and visual language to feel natural. I prefer not to over-control the environment too much. To me, it feels too clean. I have been employed as a freelance camera operator multiple times by Clockwise Film, as well as securing a camera trainee role where I was also a 2nd AC on set. I hope to continue to develop and hone my skills in the world of poetic documentary making. Instagram: megan_muir_photography
