'STRANGERS to STRANGERS' is an ongoing project that uses qualitative ‘data gathering’ and a socially engaged practice to understand the diversity and breadth of words like ‘home’, ‘comfort’, and ‘joy’. Using these individualistic and personalized responses, Thea produces participatory medias in the form of books and zines, as well as a creative media in the form of an embroidered and beaded tapestry/banner. This is done in an effort to understand and demonstrate the likeness of strangers.
Outside of this project, Thea is a mixed media psychedelic artist who uses creativity as a means of bringing realism to fantastical worlds. Recurring themes include vulnerability, self discovery and growth, with inspiration found in personal experiences and dreams.
