Alice Thomas

I am a Bristol born and bred multidisciplinary printmaker and ceramicist.

I like to work in a variety of mediums so I am able to create the best outcome when working with a specific theme or concept. Throughout my MA I have been exploring how entrenched ideas of heritage and tradition are maintained, performed and challenged within the contemporary British identity. To help convey these concepts, I am utilising ceramics as a tactile way to embody and reference subsidiary notions of value, scarcity and restriction whilst using them to draw upon visual languages associated with ‘best’ objects, heirlooms and performative, decorative domestic commodities.

Beyond my MA I want to continue to consider these themes within my work whilst collaborating with others.
