Kayla Fowler

MA Wildlife Filmmaking graduate 2026. Kayla graduated from Michigan State University in 2025 with an honors degree in Zoology (Animal Behavior/Neurobiology concentration) with a minor in documentary production, and has worked in research and outreach with the Mara Hyena Project for the past 5 years. Her work aims to encourage audiences to take a closer look at nature's most misunderstood animals. Kayla has nearly a decade of science communication experience, and has worked both in live sports broadcast production and documentary filmmaking before joining the MA. She is passionate about making science education fun and accessible, and is excited to combine the different aspects of her experience to produce wildlife films that inspire the next generation to love the natural world.
