Charles Kenneth Harter

Hi. My Name’s Charles and I’m part of UWE’s Filmmaking class of 2023, specialising in Directing.

During my time at UWE, I’ve become an ARRI Certified Camera Operator, ALBERT Trained, and had the opportunity to Direct and Assistant Direct multiple shorts, including my graduation piece Dai (2020, Director), and Sapien (2021, AD), which was selected for screenings at multiple festivals. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with some incredible contributors, like renowned sculptor David Nash RA OBE (David Nash and The Ash Dome, 2022, AD).

After UWE, I aim to grow my career in the industry as a script supervisor, assistant director & director, as well as produce my own work as an independent filmmaker. I am a big believer in film for good, and I want to continue to make films that leave a lasting positive impact on my wider community, encourage inclusion and diversity, and actively represent

northern and working class people.
