Dan Mélizan / Life Moves

I am a printmaker, illustrator, graphic designer and multi-instrumentalist. My visual work focuses on reproducing the aesthetics of 15th and 16th century German printmakers, and the artwork found through the late '90s / early '00s punk and emo scenes, particularly in the US.

I work with pen illustrations, woodcut prints and digital design, often combining all three processes to create a finished work. My approach to my work is a reflection of my involvement in DIY music scenes. The unrefined, emotional quality that both the music and art within these scenes is so full of is a crucial part of my work and my practice, as is combining my visual and sound work in a number of ways.
