Elsie Baily

Hi, I'm Elsie, I'm a multidisciplinary creative practising as a photographer and artist. My time on the Fashion Communication course has been essential in shaping my visual identity, allowing me to explore the themes of identity, self-expression and youth culture. Through my work, I aim to start conversations around topics that are often overlooked, using visual storytelling to challenge societal norms. I focus on creating a space where emotion, perspective and personal experience connect, establishing a meaningful connections between myself and my audience. My creative process is rooted in experimentation, drawing influence from contemporary culture, subversive aesthetics and the world around me.

Agitating the Comfortable

This project explores beauty standards in fashion, challenging the male gaze. Inspired by Harmony Korine, Beauty Papers, and Leigh Bowery, it evokes a visceral response, confronting the frustration of traditional ideals with expressive imagery and rebellious visual storytelling.

Under The Surface

A series of images exploring the quiet beauty of solitude. I wanted to express the peace in stillness and comfort in your own presence, embracing the emotional depth of being alone and the gentle moments that come with it.

Between Breaths

This personal project explores intimacy, generational disconnection, and the strength found in vulnerability. Using fashion and art imagery, it turns internal struggles into visual narratives, reflecting my own personal journey and the experiences that have shaped my perspective.
