The Stranger

Set in 1960s Britain, The Stranger follows a Pakistani immigrant grappling with guilt and isolation in a hostile new world. When he overhears his cruel landlady falsely accusing and evicting a neighbour for theft—a crime he himself committed to support his struggling family back home—his conscience begins to unravel. Haunted by shame and the weight of his faith, he turns to prayer, but the guilt only deepens. When he finally confesses, the landlady is thrilled to have leverage over him. But as power shifts and secrets fester, the question remains: will she turn him in, or is something darker at play? A haunting psychological drama about faith, fear, and the immigrant experience, The Stranger explores the fragile line between survival and morality in a world that offers little mercy.
