Mia Davis

I specialise in photography and graphic design, I explore different design concepts of identity in the Black Community and the importance of maintaining hair and creating a look for ourselves. My work is influenced by my own experiences being a black woman and I want to show that as much as possible in the work I decide to show.

Roots & Ruminate

This project looks into the importance of hair in the Black Community through the visual conception of photography and graphic design.

Roots & Ruminate

Here I have designed my own version of a couple double spreads that could be in a modern black hair magazine, promoting the best wigs to buy and the perfect comb.

Mother & Daughter

Here I captured the relationship between a mother and daughter through the connection of their hair and the similarities in which they have to one another.
