Claire Blackburn

I am a Bristol born artist and I currently live in North Somerset. I have lived previously in the picturesque Cotswolds and the counties of Devon and Cornwall.

I am happiest surrounded by nature and my paintings reflect the way I respond to the natural landscape especially those of the Cornish coastline and rugged moors. I have become increasingly aware of the language of the landscape and the interplay between the light and dark and how this can enhance or reflect a change in the colours of the land. The ever changing skies with beautiful sunrises and sunsets through to

turbulent clouds feature in all of my paintings and are often an indication to my thoughts and feelings.

For me painting is more than a physical action it is a meditative experience and I use multi sensory tools to achieve the correct atmosphere to work before I start painting.
