Sophia Goode

I am a progressive and eager fashion communication graduate who is inspired and interested by sustainability, mental health, and elements of society in the past, present and future. I represent these areas of interest through photography. I aim to create connections with audiences through generating content that is relatable, choosing themes which are relevant to current society, whether this be found in TV, fashion, news or lifestyles. I choose these inspirations based on my own personal absorption and connection with the world around me, and how I feel in that moment.

My desire to create inspiring work for others

keeps me motivated to work in team based projects, where collaboration is important. My previous experience with uni projects has gripped my desire to work within a team, giving me the communication and organisational skills that I need. I aspire to become the best creative version of myself.

Trash and Treasure- Lazy Oaf

As part of a group project, we created a months worth of content for a Lazy Oaf collection. Our theme was based on a day at a car boot sale, exploring the different characters and objects you find there.

Trash and Treasure- Lazy Oaf

Our approach to the photography style was based on our research into Lazy Oaf's previous campaigns and style, whilst injecting our own approach. We wanted to achieve a documentary style type of photography, using day flash photography.

Lazy Oaf- Trash and Treasure

For inspiration we looked at Martin Parr and William Eggleston, two photographers I admire and reference in a lot of my work. Research is essential for creating content and progressing as a creative individual.

Trash and Treasure- Lazy Oaf

This is one of my favourite images from the proposed campaign. The colour is bold and bright, something that Lazy Oaf is recognised for. It resonates with their playful, not so serious attitude of their visual identity.

Breath

Breath is a project based around the sustainable materials Econyl, used by Luxury brands such as Gucci. It uses recycled fish nets and plastics. Luxury brands are taking a step forward within the fashion industry to become more circular.

Breath

This shoot was shot at a location close to my heart. I associate it with my childhood, peace, and heritage- a place I want to protect. Making this project personal to me, I hoped to inspire other people through them.
