Zoe Robertson-Tingle

I am an Art Director with a multidisciplinary approach to image making; bridging fine art practices with fashion communication. I channel my interest in contemporary art through a variety of mediums, exploring themes of sociology and conceptually approaching theories that commonly sit outside of the realm of art.

Throughout my work I find a crucial aspect that contributes to my creative outcomes is the process, using in camera techniques of manipulation to create abstract imagery. Whether it's moving image, photography or exhibition design, I curate my content to encourage the viewer to actively and physically interact with my work.

From experience working within agency and art institutions, I’ve gained an in-depth insight into curating design with specific consideration for location and platform spanning Out of House Marketing, Print and Digital Content.

My work has been nominated for the Fashion Photography, The Terry Mansfield Fashion Publication and Fashion Marketing GFW23

Awards.

Flux

Through photography and interview my project Flux explores our reaction and relationship with change through embracing uncertainty in art. The physical equation of Flux involves dimensions of Light, Flow, Velocity and Volume; each forming a chapter within the final publication.

Flux : Volume

Volumetric Flux deals with ideas of distance and time; principles that are engrained in music and dance. The shoot for this chapter focused on capturing intuitive improvised movement; juxtaposing rhythm and chaos using slow shutter speed.

Flux : A look inside the Publication

Each chapter starts with my own photography and response to the theme followed by conversation with a featured talent. Through interview we discuss how their artistic practice acts as a coping mechanism for change.

Casting Connections : JW Anderson x Gerd Rothmann

A marketing campaign for a proposed collaboration between JW Anderson and fine art German jewellery designer Gerd Rothmann. The imagery and additional content explore the physical intimacy of jewellery and its craft.

Fred Perry : The Music The Rhythm The Soul

A marketing campaign focusing on the music subculture of Fred Perry, specifically Northern Soul. Casting models form the Bristol Northern Soul Club, as a group we created stills, moving image, interview and playlist outputs. My Role: Art Direction

Familiarity and Recognition

Studying the movement of people through a comparison of public and curated space I developed a runway show design exploring architectural drawing. I also used traditional methods of moving image production through Zoetropes.
