My practice explores erotica and the sublime, harnessing the fluidity of queer desire and homoerotic primality as a form of worship. Within my work, I repurpose religious materials and erotic film through photography and digital process, distorting them into snapshots of dreams as an ongoing commentary on the value placed upon intimacy within queer and particularly gay male communities. Creating something tactile from the digital, my print takes a multidisciplinary outlook, pushing traditional methods with experimental techniques.
My ongoing project, 'Wet Television', examines the self, a longing for intimacy and the dreamscape of desire, scanning scenes through the television which are then digitally disrupted and stripped from a physical space and time, to one of feeling and connection. The veils of television lines are turned into oozing fluids, caressing figures in bright, burning strokes of emotion, currently focusing on screenprint and risograph to produce physical printed matter.
