Sami Clark

Hi, my name is Sami Clark, I’m a multimedia artist from Exmouth, Devon and I’m currently studying Fine Art at UWE Bristol. My work is inspired by my queer personal identity, traumas, memories, philosophies, intimacy, safety, becoming, homelessness and the spaces we inhabit. Throughout my artistic journey, I’ve strengthened my skills using clay, solder, paint, pencils, chalk, paper, recycled materials, plaster, plants and fabric. Over the past few years, I’ve been working towards selling my art independently, creating a body of work and making my own website which I sell prints, original pieces and handmade jewellery on. Through my art degree, I’m striving to achieve my dream of selling my art independently full time, getting my work displayed in renowned public exhibition spaces, and the most rewarding part of it all, having the opportunity to express myself and find community with like-minded artists.

The Topography of Intimate Being

This sculptural installation piece, inspired by Gaston Bachelard’s philosophical concept - explores personal themes surrounding the interpretation of the self as a home, containing a cultivated space where memories, safety, identity and becoming inhabit.
