My curatorial practice is informed by my background in Human Geography. I am passionate about creating cultural events which are inclusive, accessible and meaningful by marrying politics, sociology and the climate into my work in the arts. I believe that this curatorial perspective provides the much needed opportunity to break down traditional hierarchies and structures within the arts and transform the field into a space where anyone feels welcome to participate. I specialise in collaborative curation and have experience working with community members, artists and course-mates. From planning and facilitating workshops to curating exhibitions and events, I love working on projects which I know will impact people individually and contribute to the shifting of dynamics on a larger scale.
In Centrespace, MURMUR/ation celebrated multiplicity, interdisciplinarity, and becoming: Taking inspiration from the shifting patterns of starlings, the exhibition reflects on how individual voices intersect and disperse within shared creative space. An assembly momentarily gathered in resonance before taking flight again.
In collaboration with the Arnolfini, and inspired by Mounira Al Solh’s exhibition, “A land as big as her skin,” this workshop set out to foster a relationship between embodied movement and felt emotions through exploratory prompts and sensory stimuli.
I developed the CEC from local community members around St Anne's House. Through many workshops and meetings we collaboratively planned the community installation below. I managed the timeline, budget and communications, facilitated meetings and the opening/ closing nights.
This installation at St Anne's House was inspired by the local well and woodlands. We wanted people to have a space to bring and take offerings which represented their connection and/or journey to the local area.
