Ruturaj Thavare

Ruturaj is a zoologist by training from Pune, India, with over a decade of experience travelling, filming, and photographing birds and wildlife across the country. The outdoors have been an integral part of his life since childhood, nurturing a deep and lasting connection to animals and the ecosystems they inhabit. From an early age, he was drawn to the rhythms of the natural world, spending much of his formative years exploring the dense tropical forests of the Konkan region. Over the years, he has worked across diverse habitats, from the rainforests of the Western Ghats to the dry deciduous landscapes of central India.
Through his work, Ruturaj recognises a growing disconnect between people and nature, and is driven to bridge that gap through visual storytelling. By blending art with natural history, he strives to create visually compelling wildlife documentaries that foster emotional connection, inspire awareness, and encourage meaningful conservation

action.
