What is Making Connections?
We have 10 incredible opportunities for School of Arts students and early graduates to access professional spaces and people! Making Connections are small and accessible group sessions designed for 8 –12 students offering firsthand stories of real creative career journeys, (not just the linear routes and professional awards) and informal networking for open conversations about what it’s really like to work in the creative industries.

Mary Hurrell: Multidisciplinary artist with a focus on experimental music and performance art

Have a relaxed chat with Mary about her experience of becoming a multidisciplinary artist! She’ll talk about her journey getting there, the challenge of being a neurodivergent female in the space, and invite you to partake in her style of art making.

Jono Lewarne: Founder of City Edition Studio and freelance Graphic Designer
Thursday 19 March, 1-2.30pm

Chat with Jono about his unique approach to graphic design, and journey to going freelance.
Bring your laptops! Jono will demonstrate a quick tutorial around graphic design using digital platforms. Join if you’re experienced or new to graphic design.

Hospital Rooms and Dhaqan Collective | What does it take to place art in healthcare settings?

Join our online session about Arts in the Healthcare Sector, covering:
- A project curator’s insight into on how such projects practically come together
- The experience of artists who work in this space and the realities of commissioning
- The different groups that are considered when producing such project
