What a year this has been! The world in lockdown, uncertainty, anxiety and social distancing. Yet despite all of the challenges our students have faced they have demonstrated a level of resilience and self-belief that speaks to their professionalism, determination and an independent resilience that they will need as they progress into the commercial environment.

After what has been a very challenging year for all of us, we are immensely proud to say that our students have continued to produce work of the very highest standard which has become the hallmark of UWE Animation graduates. Well, those

of you who are familiar with the work of the Bristol School of Animation will know all about our track record and the strong links with industry forged over many years.

You will also be aware of our success at picking up prizes at the Royal Television Society awards for Animation, picking up seven awards out of the past eight years and the RTS National Award in 2019. With another clean sweep taking all three top regional prizes for animation. You know will also know we have high expectations!

For those less familiar with the Bristol School of Animation, what we do and our amazing students you should check out the work of this year’s graduates at the upcoming events and on the Bristol School of Animation website. I’m sure you will find the work to be beautiful, funny, surprising and refreshingly uplifting. Much like the students themselves.

So, join us in celebrating the work of these wonderful young professionals. They represent themselves, their university, their discipline and community and in a much wide sense our society in ways that we can all be proud.
