Introducing Megan Mila Pilcher-King co-winner of Creative Conscious Gold Award & Intern at Acrylicize
Megan Mila Pilcher-King is a papercraft artist, designer and photographer based in Bristol — and a UWE Illustration 2021 graduate. In first-year, alongside fellow student Izzi Daly, they won a ‘Creative Conscious Gold Award’ for their project ‘Sleeping Rough’, which raised awareness of homelessness in Bristol through temporary public art.

Actively involved in the local design scene, Megan was recently commissioned for an editorial illustration in the Bristol Cable and is currently interning with the design company Acrylicize.
Megan’s approach to art is to create work which has a positive impact on people. In her final year, Megan has been working on a personal project called “Hair Goes Nothing” which developed her skills in papercraft through a series of wearable headpieces. The aim of this project was to make cancer a less taboo subject, and in turn help those with a diagnosis to not feel isolated – which is particularly important in these strange times.
