Each year UWE and Spike Island award prestigious Fellowships and Associates Bursaries to outstanding final year students from across the School of Arts.
The UWE X Spike Island Graduate Fellowships are presented to three graduating students from Fine Art/Art and Writing at UWE. Recipients enjoy a year’s access to a shared studio at Spike Island, alongside a £1300 materials allowance and mentoring from staff and artists at Spike Island and UWE. Congratulations to the 2024-25 Graduate Fellows:
Amy Coaten
Alice Farrington
Hannah Hornby
These artists will start their Fellowship in October 2024, and will be celebrated alongside the outgoing artists at the Night of the Fellows at Spike Island on 24 October, 6-8pm.
The UWE X Spike Island partnership also supports the awarding of ten Associates Bursaries to students from any creative undergraduate course in the School of Arts. Spike Island’s Associates Network offers professional development opportunities and events to artists, curators, designers and writers, as well as access to a shared workspace.
