Nick Jones is a Welsh artist and woodworker whose practice is rooted in material, place and memory. Working from a small workshop at the end of his garden, he creates work from wood salvaged from skips, reclaim centres and other discarded sources, allowing the history and imperfections of each material to inform the finished piece.
Largely self-taught, Jones develops his techniques through an experimental, practice-led approach, learning through making and responding to the materials available to him.
Through reclaimed wood, Jones explores ideas of memory, heritage and the relationship between people and the materials that surround them. His practice considers how discarded materials can be given new meaning, transforming overlooked fragments of everyday life into sculpture.
Nick is also a working carpenter and furniture maker blending fine art with time honoured technique.
Nick’s work has recently been featured at the Bath Fringe Festival 2026 as well as the Sylva Foundation.
