Aaron Lewis-Grey

I am an emerging theatre director, producer and stage manager based in Bristol. I recently finished studying BA (Hons) Drama with Theatre Directing. The majority of my work has been as a Director/ Dramaturg on various projects across my time at UWE including my most recent productions of 'Hidden Faith' and 'Hug me in Paradise'.

I've also worked as a producer and stage manager for many of the productions I've directed but also outside shows like the UWE New Performance festivals in 2018 & 2019, 'Sins of the Father' and the UWE Final Year Project performance 'Momento Mori'.

I'm extremely ambitious,

highly motivated and organised for any situation. I've been captivated by the arts since first experiencing the stage in London's West End. Early on, I discovered that having an artistic outlet was the perfect way to express my thoughts, creativity, and imagination.

My time Directing at UWE

In the last 3 years, I've had the privilege to direct a variety of performances in and outside my course. Some pieces i've enjoyed more than others but everything has been a lesson for me while I find my place.

Hidden Faith

Final Year Project 2021. A Theatre of Cruelty performance centralised around the themes of Womanhood and faith. Hidden Faith aimed to open an audience’s eyes to the power of women in collective strength. Inspired by Midsommar (2019)

Hidden Faith

The set design for the performance was inspired greatly by Frantic Assembly's performance of 'Lovesong' by Abi Morgan. The minimalistic set put emphasis on the other multimedia elements of the perofmance, significantly lighting & sound which was designed by myself.

Lucid Dreams

This experimental postdramatic performance was devised by myself and 3 other students from watching a classic piece of cinema called 'Ivan's Childhood' (1962) by Andrei Tarkovsky. It played around with dream & reality.

Lucid Dreams

I perfomed and did the sound design for this performance. It was a very unique experience as the performing style was unlike anything I had done before and sound design was a new element of theatre I'd never done before.
