This year’s Spike Island Open Studios was a big success, attracting well over 6,000 visitors to see behind the scenes of Spike Island’s vast spaces, home to over 70 artists’ studios, Spike Print Studio and UWE Fine Art.

BA and MA Fine Art students staged ambitious exhibitions, performed live work, designed a bar and ran workshops across the weekend. Our UWE X Spike Island Graduate Fellows also opened their studio to show new work, and ran a ‘Corner Shop’, packed with limited editions and publications for sale.

Students, alumni and other members of the public also had the chance to visit the studios of the many artists who contribute to UWE School of Arts programmes as Lecturers, Associate/Guest Lecturers and mentors.

See some of the documentation from UWE’s participation in this incredible weekend below.
