The BA Fashion Communication programme recently welcomed ZBD Talent, one of the UK’s leading inclusive talent agencies, for an inspiring industry talk that explored representation, inclusivity, and care within the creative industry as a part of a Level 4 x Level 5 x Level 6 casting project
Founded on the principles of community, confidence, and education, ZBD has built a reputation for supporting models who reflect the diversity of contemporary Britain.
During the session, the ZBD team shared their experiences of working with brands and photographers across London, Manchester and beyond, while suggesting to the students to consider how representation operates at every stage of image-making. To be mindful of representation and expand their practice to be more diverse and inclusive. They discussed the importance of thoughtful planning on set, the value of accessible communication, and the responsibility creatives have when collaborating with talent from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and identities.
The conversation resonated deeply with students, many of whom are developing campaigns and visual narratives that are more inclusive and diverse in their representation.
